Agenda:

1. Sign-in on the attendance sheet!


2. Sign up to receive texts for Guatemala 2019!  We will use this for all mass communication!  Each student and one parent/guardian should sign up for the text messages.




 

  • Introductions with official group
    • Official Travel Dates = We will announce in Spring.  We will most likely leave the weekend after school lets out in June!
    • Passports! - Need to get passport or renew passport by mid November!
    • (Directions for obtaining/renewing a passport - travel.state.gov).  
    • You must submit a copy of your passport with your next payment!!  It must be valid 3 months past the date of our trip.
    • 2nd Payment Due on Wednesday, Jan. 30th - $600!
    • Scholarship applications for those students who are members of PHS Spanish Club will be handed out in January.  
    • Roommates - In the home-stay, you will have a group of 2 and in the hotels a group of 3.  Please sign up on both the home-stay and hotel rooming sheets.

      Final Travel Information

      We have some important updates for students and parents about our trip: Baggage fee :  American Airlines will not accept cash or checks (credit or debit cards only) at the ticket counter for your baggage fees.  However, I am willing to pay for luggage fees with my credit card.  If you would like me to use my credit card for your daughter's baggage fees, please give me an envelope containing $60.00 cash.  Be sure to write your daughter's name on the envelope and give that to me Saturday night.  I misspoke about our Humanitarian experience at our last meeting.  Students WILL need an additional $10-15 cash for supplies.  See my previous blog post for additional information.       Flight Information

      We will be flying AMERICAN  Airlines 16June2019    Depart Chicago O’Hare at 6:00AM 24June2019    Return to Chicago O’Hare at 10:53PM *Luggage fees apply. As these are the responsibility of each participant to pay upon check in at the airport ( Preguntas , page 1), please check the airline website prior to departure for updated fees. (Note: Currently the luggage fee is $30 in each direction plus please check the airline website prior to departure for any changes/adjustments.)  *Luggage weights are listed in the Preguntas booklet. Please adhere to these, as they take into consideration both airline and ground transportation restrictions.  *Check in time for your group is 3 hours prior to departure.
