PHS Guatemala Trip 2019

Reminders...... WEAR A PULASKI RED SHIRT ON TRAVEL DAYS! Bring warm clothing for cold airports, airplanes, and Pacaya Volcano. It will rain every day we are in Antigua.  Bring umbrella and/or raincoat. Our bus is loading at 11:30pm in the front of PHS (facing S. St. Augustine) and departing at midnight. Do you have your passport along?  You will not be able to pay luggage fees with cash.  I can pay with my credit card.  Please give me an envelope with your name on the outside containing $60.00 before boarding the bus. We have some important updates for students and parents about our trip: Baggage fee :  American Airlines will not accept cash or checks (credit or debit cards only) at the ticket counter for your baggage fees.  However, I am willing to pay for luggage fees with my credit card.  If you would like me to use my credit card for your daughter's baggage fees, please give me an envelope containing $60.00 cash.  Be sure to write your daughter's name on the envelope and give that to me Saturday night.  I misspoke about our Humanitarian experience at our last meeting.  Students WILL need an additional $10-15 cash for supplies.  See my previous blog post for additional information. For our humanitarian experience we will be visiting Semillero Mi Angel Guardian , which is an after-school daycare for single parents, most of which are single mothers.  We will help children with their homework and play games until early evening, when their parent picks them up.  Each student should set aside $10-$15 each to purchase needs/supplies. We will purchase our supplies at a local store.
